Puppies are not small dogs with small appetites. They are building skeleton, and the ratio of calcium to phosphorus matters more in the first year than at any other point in their life. This recipe holds that ratio at 1.3:1, which is where most growth guidance sits, and keeps the energy density high enough that a puppy does not have to eat an uncomfortable volume to get there.

The kibble is deliberately small at 6mm. Puppies swallow rather than chew when they are excited, and a smaller piece that they can actually crunch slows the meal down. If you have a large-breed puppy who is inhaling dinner regardless, put the daily amount into a snuffle mat or a slow bowl and let the food take ten minutes instead of forty seconds.

Feed four meals a day up to about four months, three until six months, then settle to two. The bag prints the grams per day against weight and age rather than a vague cup measure, because a cup of one food is not a cup of another and that is where most overfeeding starts.

Move onto an adult recipe somewhere between ten and fourteen months depending on breed size. Small breeds finish growing early, giants finish late. Do it gradually over ten days, and if anything about your puppy's growth, weight or stools worries you, that is a conversation for your vet and not for a product page.
