Brass Engraved ID Tag

Microchipping is the law and it is what reunites a lost animal with its owner at a vet or a shelter. A tag is what gets your dog home from the person who found it at the end of the road, forty minutes after it went missing and before anybody has thought about scanners. You want both.

The difference between a tag that lasts and one that goes blank is the engraving method. A laser marks the surface and wears off against a collar buckle in about a year. This is cut 0.4mm into solid brass with a rotary tool, so the letters survive being dragged through hedges for the life of the dog.

Put your phone number on the front and keep it to the essentials. Most useful: your mobile, and the word CHIPPED. Least useful: the dog's name in large type, which mainly helps a stranger call your dog away from you. We will engrave up to four lines of eighteen characters across both faces.

Brass darkens to a warm patina. If you would rather it stayed bright, a minute with a cloth once a season brings it back. The split ring supplied is stainless; if you are attaching it to a working collar, ask for the welded ring instead in the order notes.
